Yiff used to be a foxish language.  Yerf is a generic friendly greeting, usually reflecting casual mood. People outside the fandom perverted the meaning in an attempt to make furries seem to be what they are not. People making Yiff to be sex are they that were thinking about sex. Furries were not thinking about that at all until people with cruel minds pummeled the furry with their interpretation of the word Yiff.  Yiff is one word that the fox says.  The word does not mean what it used to mean. The fox makes yipping and barking sounds plus a lot of other sounds that cannot be put into human words.
