Why Did God Command Genocide In the Bible!?

The genocide that was seen would not have happened had people accepted the peacful Spirit of God  allowing him to be in them. That Spirit will be good to people. God faced many that were not good to people. God needed to get rid of people who were determined to be bad to people.
