It is not dying on the cross for our sins as the church says. We would be lost forever in our sins had Jesus listened to taunting Devils saying: come off of the cross. There would be no hope of a world made new had Jesus done that. Death would be forever had Jesus used eternal power in him against his enemies. People would have used that power in a blink of an eye. That power set all of the stars in the universe. Humans would love to have such power. They would have messed everything up had they used that power. Jesus refrained from using that power. That is what saved us.
